Latte-fueled Optimism with a Killer Soundtrack.

Post

Time to start micro-blogging this stuff right here.

I promised I’d keep a record of the summer…  Well, the first two weeks of Pennsylvania were mostly rehearsing, panicking, trying to eat healthy in the least health-conscious place I’ve ever been, and more rehearsing.

There.  You’re caught up.

Company preview was last night.  Something called the “Senior preview” is tonight.  I expect that these central PA senior citizens will be a riotous audience (I am a judger).

My costume doesn’t quite allow for much in the way of vertical or lateral arm movement.  This leads to some fun moments onstage, as well as some awesome arm bruises.  That’s right.  I am now bruising from FABRIC. Our costume staff/ my fellow cast members seem horrified.

One very cool thing (slash kinda hectic and crazy) is that we are currently running through the show with another actor prepping to take over a role…  A guy in our cast got called back for the Young Frankenstein Tour (2nd time!) to actually dance for Susan Stroman.  CRAZY.  And the company is being so great and letting him go to NY so as not to miss it.  It feels so nice to see that sort of solidarity.  And the guy is SUPER talented… Seriously, guys.  This guy is going places.

Our call is at 1PM today, which is amazing.  Though, I’ve received 2 texts during the night.  One telling me my call was changed to noon.  The other telling me it was changed to 11. So. OK.  No gym for Rachel.

Though I am going to hit up my brand new NETIPOT this morning.  For I am a convert, and it’s like my sinuses are going through an awakening.  Mind-blowing.

The pictures I’ve been getting of Declan (the newest newphew) are floating me through the day.  It is so hard to believe I’m only here for another week and a half.  I can’t WAIT to hug that little guy.

Plus, 2 weeks until L.A.  Really.  I’m actually going to California.  First time ever.  Seeing the Pacific.  Being an actor.  Bringing my cardigan just like Miley.

I have a list of things to do, but it’s mostly:

1. act good

2. try to surf

3. eat a hotdog from that place James Taylor wrote a SONG about.

4. Nap

I’m most excited for the ocean I think.  As beautiful as it is here, the idea of living without an ocean makes no sense.

Off to go be an actor, guys.  This is the exciting stuff. Right. Here.
